A Business Manager & Ads Operations Lead
(for a High-Revenue College Sports Romance Author)
I’m a full-time college sports romance author running a high-revenue indie publishing business, and I’m looking for a Business Manager & Ads Operations Lead to become my right-hand partner.
This is not a VA role.
This is a senior position for someone who loves romance novels, understands readers, thinks clearly with data, and brings a calm, positive, growth-oriented energy to the businesses they support.
About the Business
-
$30K–$40K/month in revenue
-
Significant monthly Facebook ad spend ($6K - $8K/month)
-
Established backlist with ongoing releases
-
Focused on sustainable growth, strong margins, and long-term stability
This business blends strategy + intuition, data + creativity, and numbers + mindset. I’m looking for someone who feels comfortable operating at that intersection.
About You
You may be a great fit if you:
-
Love romance novels and understand romance readers emotionally
-
Are both analytical and creative
-
Feel confident interpreting ad data and creating new ideas to test
-
Can look at numbers without spiraling or overreacting
-
Comfortable giving direction and making decisions
-
Enjoys organizing and prioritizing work across a small team
-
Communicates clearly, calmly, and respectfully
-
Values efficiency, clarity, and empowered teamwork
-
Believe performance dips are information, not emergencies
-
Enjoy responsibility, ownership, and decision-making
-
Are proactive, organized, and systems-oriented
-
Value positive mindset, intentional growth, and emotionally regulated work
You don’t need to practice manifestation in the same way I do — but you do need to respect mindset work, speak about growth in an empowered way, and operate from possibility rather than fear.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Facebook Ads: Strategy, Creativity & Data
-
Day-to-day oversight of Facebook ads
-
Creating new ad concepts (angles, hooks, messaging, creative direction)
-
Collaborating on or drafting ad copy and creative ideas rooted in romance-reader psychology
-
Launching and testing new ads against existing winners
-
Monitoring key metrics (ROAS, CPA, CPM, CTR, frequency, fatigue)
-
Analyzing performance data to identify trends and opportunities
-
Making informed, calculated decisions about scaling, pausing, or iterating
-
Flagging issues early and proposing clear next steps
You don’t need to be a designer — but you do need creative instincts and the confidence to test ideas rather than wait for perfection.
Business Operations & Admin
-
Running launches behind the scenes
-
Managing platforms, links, uploads, dashboards, and systems
-
Ensuring nothing breaks without being noticed
-
Creating, refining, and documenting workflows and SOPs
-
Keeping the operational side of the business smooth, stable, and predictable
Strategic Support & Initiative
-
Bringing proactive ideas and insights (creative, operational, or analytical)
-
Making judgment calls within agreed boundaries
-
Communicating clearly about what the data is showing — without drama or fear
-
Supporting growth with logic, creativity, and grounded optimism
This role requires initiative, discernment, and trust.
Team Leadership & Delegation
-
Providing direction and priorities to two existing team members
-
Delegating tasks and workflows so high-level work stays high-level
-
Ensuring social media and admin tasks are aligned with launches and goals
-
Acting as a point of coordination (not micromanagement)
-
Creating clarity and structure so the team operates smoothly
This role is designed so you are leading and directing, not doing everything yourself.
How We’ll Work Together
I lead with:
-
Vision
-
Big-picture thinking
-
Intuition paired with strategy
You bring:
-
Operational excellence
-
Data clarity
-
Creative problem-solving
-
Calm, stabilizing energy
This is a collaborative, long-term partnership — not a task list.
What This Role Is Not
-
Not a task-only VA role
-
Not micromanaged
-
Not reactive or chaotic
-
Not short-term
Compensation
-
This is a senior, well-compensated role with pay aligned to experience, level of ownership, and impact.
-
The position includes a 90-day onboarding and alignment period, followed by a planned compensation review and increase based on demonstrated ownership, performance, and mutual fit.
-
Compensation is structured as a monthly retainer, with opportunities for performance-based bonuses over time.
-
This role is designed for someone seeking long-term stability, growth, and meaningful responsibility.
